Aiden Chapparone‘s cinematography is beautiful. Paired with a perfect synth-inspired score from Reza Safinia, each element complements the next. Claire’s visions are a mix of memories and nightmares. To piggyback on her condition, a theory 3/4 of the way through from the rather loathsome Justin is like a gut punch. You’re so emotionally invested in Claire’s arc that you hope he’s wrong.
Aiden was so great to work with; he was always so calm, even under high stress. I loved working with him to figure out the best way to tell the story and keep us in the point-of-view of the main characters. We also worked together to give the audience an experience they would always remember.
But what really takes this film over the top and multiplies its impact is the cinematography from Aiden Chapparone. He really knows how to use the desert landscape to his advantage, and the way he shoots sunsets and night skies is absolutely inspiring.
